Calvin Marais
Calvin was fortunate enough to commence his real estate career with a leading real estate agency in Hervey Bay's which provided him with invaluable experience in the real estate industry.
Calvin was born and raised in Durban, South Africa. He completed his secondary schooling before being conscripted for military service, serving in the Medical Corp. Post completion of his military service, Calvin commenced a career in transport and logistics whilst studying part-time at Technikon Natal where he completed his studies in Environmental Health.
Calvin migrated to Australia in October 1999, settling in Brisbane. He spent the first few years in Australia working again in transport and logistics. In 2006 he made the decision to further undertake tertiary studies; and completed a Bachelor of Science: Environmental Health in 2008.
Whilst undertaking his degree, Calvin met the love of his life, and he married Karen in February 2009. Together they now have two beautiful daughters, Madison, and Samantha.
He commenced his career in Environmental Health in late 2008, working for local Government. He secured his first leadership role in 2010; working his way to a managerial position over the next few years and gained valuable experience working in Queensland and Tasmania.
His transition to real estate was an obvious next step for Calvin being a long-held area of interest of his, and an area would benefit from the skills he gained working in the private and public sectors over the past 30-odd years of his working career. Calvin co-owns Simply Real Estate Fraser Coast with his wife, Karen.
